Hi everyone,

Let’s talk about NURS FPX 4010 Assessment 1, where we create a reflection video focused on leadership, collaboration, communication, and the nurse’s role in driving change. This is the first major assignment in Capella University’s Leading People, Processes, and Organizations in Interprofessional Practice course, and it really sets the tone for what’s to come.

In this assessment, we’re asked to reflect on a personal or observed experience where effective or ineffective collaboration occurred in a health care setting. The goal is to analyze how communication and leadership impacted the outcome and what could have been done better. It's also about identifying your own leadership style and how you can apply it in interdisciplinary settings.

For my video, I talked about a situation where miscommunication during shift change led to a medication delay. I explored how improved hand-off communication and stronger team leadership could have prevented the issue. It was a learning moment that highlighted the importance of clarity, accountability, and teamwork.

To do well on NURS FPX 4010 Assessment 1, I recommend:

• Choosing a meaningful situation with real impact—positive or negative.

• Being honest and reflective about what happened and what could improve.

• Connecting your experience to leadership theories or communication models covered in the course.
